Planned Parenthood cheers attorney general who refused to investigate them
Planned Parenthood cheers attorney general who refused to investigate them
Tuesday, the state of California held its primary in preparation for November’s elections, and Planned Parenthood was thrilled with the results. Why? Because Attorney General Xavier Becerra won. On the surface, this may not seem notable; cheering on pro-abortion politicians is par for the course when it comes to the abortion lobby. But in this case, there are some massive ethical breaches.
Some may recognize Becerra’s name: he is the attorney general who refused to investigate Planned Parenthood after the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) exposed the abortion giant’s criminal activities. Around the country, CMP found that Planned Parenthood was selling the body parts of babies they aborted. They also were found to be killing preborn babies that survived abortions — babies that were born alive.
But rather than hold Planned Parenthood accountable for its lawbreaking, Becerra went after the Center for Medical Progress. He filed 15 charges against investigators David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, and refused to even investigate the likely criminal activity found in CMP’s videos.
This corruption was an egregious breach of ethics; it sent shockwaves across the state of California. Undercover journalism has not only been protected in California in the past, but the footage from undercover journalists prompted state officials to open investigations. The only difference now is that Planned Parenthood is an abortion provider, and therefore, evidently above investigations. And Becerra seems intent on punishing Daleiden and Merritt; after a judge dismissed 14 of the charges against them, Becerra vowed immediately to refile, and quickly did just that. Planned Parenthood has completely escaped any accountability in California, thanks to Becerra and his predecessor, (now Senator) Kamala Harris.
So it’s no wonder Planned Parenthood has cheered his victory.
They were certainly honest in this tweet; Becerra has been their champion. Just watch the video below:
When Planned Parenthood was caught breaking the law, he refused to investigate or file charges. He then went after the people who investigated them. And now the abortion corporation has returned the favor by publicly endorsing him. As Live Action President Lila Rose pointed out, this is a severe miscarriage of justice:
