Back in February, Planned Parenthood announced that it would be closing four clinics in Wisconsin this year. Last Friday, the first of these clinics, the clinic located in Shawano, closed.
Planned Parenthood points to the cut in state funding as the reason why this clinic and three others will close. The Wisconsin state legislature cut an estimated $1 million of funding from this abortion giant in the last state budget.
While the clinic in Shawano allegedly did not perform abortions, it is a part of the larger Planned Parenthood network, which is a main player in the abortion industry. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported that an average of 42 women from Shawano county receive an induced abortion from a Wisconsin abortion provider each year, based on numbers from 2009-2011.
