Three years ago, a 24-year-old mother was killed in a botched abortion at a Chicago Planned Parenthood. Tonya Reaves was engaged to be married, had a child, and a loving family. At 16 weeks pregnant, she went to Planned Parenthood for an abortion. The abortionist who killed her perforated her uterus, and then the Planned Parenthood staff let her bleed out for five hours before calling 911. When she was finally taken to the hospital, it was discovered that the abortion was never completed in the first place, and ultimately, doctors weren’t able to control the bleeding from her perforated uterus. Reaves’ last hours were filled with agonizing pain and an inexcusable lack of care from the people who promise “care, no matter what.”
Now, new details have come to light about the abortionist that butchered Reaves and killed her preborn child. It turns out that Mandy Gittler, who still practices at a Michigan Planned Parenthood clinic, has no right to be practicing medicine.

The abortionist who performed the procedure on Reaves, Mandy Gittler… is currently employed at a Planned Parenthood facility in Kalamazoo, Michigan. However, Gittler has not obtained proper licensing in Michigan and she’s had several complaints filed against her in the last two years.
In 2014, an Illinois complaint against Gittler highlighted problems with the abortionist’s staff and mentioned that her Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certificate license might be fined.
Additionally, on page 46 of Gittler’s sworn deposition in the Reaves/Jones v. Gittler case, it was mentioned that her facility was in immediate jeopardy for not doing a quality control; and her corporation, All Women’s Health, S.C. was “not in good standing” according to the corporation file detail report.
A January Michigan complaint indicates Gittler is performing abortions at Planned Parenthood without a proper drug control license, which is required by licensed medical doctors in the state.
Yet none of this precludes her from being employed by Planned Parenthood, just like Planned Parenthood had no problem with letting her continue to perform abortions for them after she horribly butchered one of their patients and let her die a slow, painful death without getting her any kind of emergency care. There even seems to be some evidence that Planned Parenthood never called 911 for her at all, and that dispatchers were called for a completely unrelated incident, and not to help Tonya Reaves. Gittler and her staff literally left this woman to die, and Planned Parenthood couldn’t care less.
Sadly, this isn’t surprising. Planned Parenthood does not care about the safety of women. Planned Parenthood’s M.O. when it comes to women injured or killed in abortions is to pretend it never happened. Untrained and unlicensed staff are routinely hired by Planned Parenthood, as Gittler’s continued employment shows, and unsanitary conditions are not unusual, either. Women are not safe at Planned Parenthood, which will take their money, kill their preborn children, and look the other way if the abortion costs them their lives, too.
Abortion advocates claim to want safe and legal abortions. If that’s the case, then they can’t possibly continue to support Planned Parenthood.
