Police on the hunt for man suspected of killing his pregnant girlfriend and police officer

A $100,000 reward has been offered for information in the search for suspected killer Markeith Loyd. Loyd is suspected of the December murder of his ex-girlfriend Sade Nixon, 24, who was three months pregnant. She was killed while at home with her five-year-old and seven-year-old children and her parents. Her brother, Ronald Steward, age 26, ran to help his sister, but was shot and is in critical condition.

Two weeks before Loyd was accused of killing Nixon he had posted on Facebook: “Goals!!!! To be on Americas most wanted.”

On Monday, police say Loyd shot and killed Master Sgt. Debra Clayton when she confronted him outside of a Walmart. Clayton had learned that Loyd was sighted near the Walmart and ordered him to stop when she spotted him. He immediately began shooting at her.

Loyd fled in a car, firing shots at another officer who was not seriously injured. After exiting that vehicle, Loyd stole a different one, then exited that vehicle and ran into an apartment complex.

Loyd is now wanted for two murders as well as attempted murder and police are urging people to look out for him as he is considered armed and dangerous.

Loyd is not the first person to kill or attempt to kill his pregnant wife or girlfriend. It is becoming all to common for men to kill their pregnant partners when these women refuse abortion. In fact, the legalization of abortion enables these men to force or pressure their partners to abort — or kill them when they refuse. Some men schedule abortion appointments against the woman’s wishes, attempt to cause a miscarriage, or force them to abort at Planned Parenthood. Others take the matter into their own hands in an even more deadly way.

Carlton Bryan, 21, had his pregnant girlfriend, Shamari Jenkins, shot in Hartford, Connecticut, when she refused abortion.

Christian Ferdinand, 22, confessed to killing his 14-year-old girlfriend, Shaniesha Forbes of Brooklyn, because he thought she was pregnant, and she had told him she would not have an abortion.

Roger Holland strangled his pregnant wife and killed their preborn child. His attorney argued that the death of the child didn’t count as murder because it “was an abortion, not a murder, and the only person whose rights that such an act could have violated — the mother — was already dead.”

Nicholas Leaning stabbed his 34-week pregnant girlfriend Lauren Oliver five times in the abdomen. Her baby was miraculously unharmed, and Oliver survived.

In addition, other men have killed their preborn children by tricking their wives or girlfriends into taking the abortion pill or chemical-laced foods.

“What abortion is, is a safety net for sexually predatory and sexually irresponsible males,” explained Mark Crutcher, the founder and president of Life Dynamics. “What happens when men use abortion as a sort of safety net? What do they do when the woman they’ve impregnated won’t jump into the net?”

They take the killing on for themselves.
