Rock star Carlos Santana performed at a concert in July, during which he made some controversial remarks. Though he later apologized for his statements — which angered some — the truth of what he said does not change.
At the concert, Santana took a break from performing to make a statement. “When God made you and me, before we came out of the womb, you know who you are and what you are,” he announced to the crowd, which cheered in response.

After outrage from transgender activists, Santana backtracked and issued an apology. “I am sorry for my insensitive comments,” he said. “They don’t reflect that I want to honor and respect all person’s ideals and beliefs. I realize that what I said hurt people, and that was not my intent. I sincerely apologize to the transgender community and everyone I offended.”
Though the crux of Santana’s remarks may not have been intentionally pro-life, he now joins a number of celebrities or Hollywood shows which have acknowledged in some way the humanity of the preborn.
Even from the first moment of life, a preborn child is a living human being. In the first trimester, a preborn baby grows from a single-celled organism to a baby with a beating heart… all within just 22 days.
Her sex, hair color, eye color, and other traits are immediately determined at fertilization, and her DNA makes her unique from every other human being who ever has, or ever will, come into existence.
By six weeks gestation — in less than two months! — she has recordable brain waves. After just nine weeks of development, she can suck her thumb, swallow, sigh, stretch, and grasp objects. She can sense light touch, and make complex facial expressions. And this is all within the first three short months.
Santana has lent his guitar skills to a pro-abortion song in the past, but his recent comments show that, whether intentionally or not, he’s aware that what is growing during pregnancy is a human being: not a clump of cells or meaningless tissue, but a child.
