Self-proclaimed ‘witch’ claims her abortions were ‘death magic’

A woman who calls herself a witch on TikTok released a video that is going viral, in which she teaches followers how to use abortion as a “magical ritual.”

The user, Valkyrja Vörðr, describes herself as a “Norse Priestess” and “Valkyrie of the Veil,” and posts content to TikTok under the name vordr.art. The viral video seems to have been deleted from her TikTok account, but was captured by other users on social media.

“How to practice abortion as a magical ritual – part one. My qualifications for teaching this: I am a witch who has had abortions and has used them as rituals. I’ve been through this twice, and it’s birthing magic and it’s death magic simultaneously. If you are a womb body who has made the decision to have an abortion, keep in mind that there is death and there is life. There has been a conception. There is life that has been conceived.

For me, I look at the abortions I’ve had as workings. So just like you would go through a spell and do things in a very specific order — you would lay things out in a very specific order — because how we do our rituals and our workings and our spell castings, the order that we do them in is the order they play out in, in the physical, when the magic, like, really kicks in. And our spirits that we have called on say it’s time for that working to work. So if we look at an abortion and conception ritualistically, there’s a life that has been conceived.

Second thing you want to keep in mind is that there is going to be an ending. You’re calling death. You’re calling ending to that conception. You’re calling ending to that cycle of growth within you physically. You’re calling death to things. A death to growth of something, something that’s been growing in your life that no longer serves you, that you don’t want around.”

She’s at least honest in admitting that abortion is the intentional, targeted taking of a preborn human life. And based on her other abortion videos, that reality haunts her on some level.

In another video, she talks about the after-effects of having gone through two abortions.

“Dude, being a witch is so wild,” she began, saying she had already gone through one abortion in 2020 and knew when she got pregnant a second time, it was what she would do again. “Being a witch and going through abortions is f***ing nuts. With both of the pregnancies that I had, I’ve had dreams of giving birth. And I don’t mean it’s just like, it’s a dream. I don’t mean like, ‘oh, I saw it happen.’ No. It was like, a full-blown can feel my uterus contracting, and then like, have really vivid images of having a child wrapped up in my arms.”

But rather than delving more into why she had vivid dreams about giving birth to the children she instead chose to kill, she explained that it was her abortion “magic” working.

“I just had that dream recently, so now I know for this one, I didn’t have the baby, but I am birthing new life for myself!” she said. “Because that is the power of abortion magic. So now that I had the dream that the baby’s born, here comes new life for me. I’m so grateful to be a witch.”

Under no other circumstances would it be considered legally or culturally acceptable to take someone’s life as a means to improve your own life — yet with abortion, it’s exactly that mindset being celebrated.
