Statement from Lila Rose on Planned Parenthood's latest annual report

“It’s no wonder Planned Parenthood delayed releasing its annual report for months.

“Planned Parenthood is losing clients and reducing what few health services it offers to women, yet it has managed to increase its abortions – and its revenues. Planned Parenthood’s alarming new numbers continue to make it clear that its focus is abortion at the expense of women’s health care. This type of evidence – from Planned Parenthood itself – makes it impossible for any politician to justify that the abortion chain get another dime of taxpayer funding.

“Incredibly and sadly, this annual report shows that abortions are increasing at Planned Parenthood even when they’re declining nationally. The increase in abortions isn’t surprising, considering former managers like Sue Thayer have exposed the existence of abortion quotas at Planned Parenthood centers and have revealed that they were taught to encourage women to have abortions instead of deliver their babies.

“While Planned Parenthood has claimed that prenatal care and cancer screenings are some of its core services that justify its taxpayer funding, what little prenatal care had existed was cut nearly in half, and breast exams are down another staggering 12 percent in a single year. While Pap tests showed a small increase in this annual report, that won’t make up for the 75 percent plummet they had over the last 11 years of reports.

“Planned Parenthood has tried to convince Congress and the American public that redirecting taxpayer funding away from the abortion chain to community health centers would harm their clients, but the new annual report shows that its clients continue to look for alternatives on their own: Planned Parenthood lost another 100,000 clients last year, on top of the half million clients they had already lost since 2011.”
