Students for Life of Michigan hosts annual activism and training conference

Students for Life of Michigan (SFLM) is an organization of pro-life college students formed to promote a culture of life on college campuses in Michigan. We serve as a resource for pro-life college students, working to form new Students for Life groups on campuses, educating youth on pro-life issues, and building communication among existing groups in Michigan.

On Saturday, March 31, 2012, Students for Life of Michigan will host its annual Activism and Training Conference at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. This conference is a unique opportunity for pro-life students to come together for a full day of networking, education, and fun. Students will have the opportunity to meet with local pro-life speakers and organizations that are dedicated to their success on campus.

The day begins at 9:00 a.m. with a morning of prayer in front of Planned Parenthood in Ann
Arbor, Michigan. The training portion will begin at 10:45 a.m. with U.S. Congressman Tim
Walberg and Catholic Vote’s Joshua Mercer, who will speak about the upcoming elections.

Live Action’s Communications Director Kate Bryan will be speaking on the importance of social
media and how to use it to grow the pro-life message and promote your pro-life group. Other
speakers include Students for Life of America’s Field Director Brendan O’Morchoe, Legislative
Director for Right to Life of Michigan Ed Rivet, Americans United for Life Staff Attorney Kellie
Fiedorek, and Edmund Miller of Guadalupe Partners.

The day will end with a keynote address by international pro-life speaker and attorney Rebecca
Kiessling.

The registration fee is $15. Please sign up here. For an extra $5, you can reserve a hotel room for Friday night in Ann Arbor. Please contact me (Christen Houck) at SFLMichigan@gmail.com with any questions.

If you are part of the Pro-Life Generation, this is a weekend that you will not want to miss!
