Ted Cruz names Carly Fiorina as his vice presidential candidate

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz has announced today that he will name former candidate and ex-Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina as his running mate if he wins the party nomination.

“Over and over again Carly has shattered glass ceilings. But in addition to being a woman of extraordinary intelligence, she’s also a woman of deep principle,” Cruz said. “This is a choice that you are telling the American people, this is an individual who I trust, and even more importantly, this is an individual you can trust to lead this county no matter what might happen.”

As a pro-life woman, Fiorina has forcefully pushed back against the narrative that abortion is a necessary component of women’s health or her identity as a female, calling it instead the “butchery of babies.”

During her time in the GOP primary field, Planned Parenthood frequently singled her out for attacks due to her impassioned condemnation of the abortion giant’s ongoing baby-parts harvesting scandal.

“I dare, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, to watch these tapes,” Fiorina declared during one of the early debates. “Watch a fully formed fetus, on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain.”

Planned Parenthood and abortion advocates claimed Fiorina was “lying” about the video, but as Live Action has covered, the baby footage in that particular Center for Medical Progress video was for illustrative purposes and not the same baby StemExpress whistleblower Holly O’Donnell witnessed, but was from an intact-delivery abortion and accurately depicted the alleged event, as did Fiorina’s description.

Fiorina endorsed Cruz last month, for which abortion advocates dubbed the pair Planned Parenthood’s “biggest liar” and “worst enemy.”
