Pro-life watchdog group Operation Rescue reports that two women undergoing abortions in September 2020 at Austin Women’s Health Center in Austin, Texas, were both transported to the emergency room for uncontrolled hemorrhaging.
Patient 1
The first emergency occurred on September 2, 2020. A 28-year-old woman suffered excessive bleeding after undergoing an abortion. An employee at the abortion business named “Julie” called 911 and told the emergency dispatcher that the patient was “having excessive bleeding — and they’re currently trying to manage it, but then, as a precaution, we want EMS to come out in case they can’t get it under control. And it’s vaginal bleeding.” She also said the patient was awake but she was uncertain if the patient was suffering from shock.
Patient 2
The second emergency occurred just three weeks later on September 25, 2020. A 25-year-old woman hemorrhaged during a Dilation and Evacuation (D&E) dismemberment abortion that is committed during the second trimester. The same employee, “Julie,” called 911 to request an ambulance. Julie told 911 that the patient was “having some hemorrhage.” When asked if the patient had significant bleeding or shock symptoms, Julie replied, “Um, I mean, I know she has significant bleeding. That’s why I’m calling. But I’m not sure there are shock symptoms.”
Texas law states that abortion can only be committed after 20 weeks for “Maternal and Fetal Indications,” which is a loophole in the law that is meant to allow late-term abortions for health reasons. However, according to Roe v. Wade‘s companion Supreme Court ruling Doe v. Bolton, “health” covers a variety of issues such as mental health, emotional health, and familial health. Babies as young as 21 weeks are capable of surviving outside the womb, so if the woman is facing a true medical emergency, the baby should be delivered rather than aborted.
During a D&E abortion, the living child who is capable of feeling pain and may be old enough to survive outside the womb is killed through dismemberment. Her legs and arms are torn from her body and her head is crushed, as explained by former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino in the video below:
These are not the first emergencies to occur at Austin Women’s Health Center. In February 2020, the abortion business called 911 for another patient who suffered from uncontrolled bleeding.
This facility was last inspected on March 26, 2019, and at that time was cited for violations involving medical emergency protocols. Hemorrhaging is a risk during all abortion procedures, including when taking the abortion pill.
