On a recent episode of “The View,” host Sunny Hostin smeared women who vote to protect preborn human beings as “roaches,” and claimed they are voting against their own interests.
While speaking about the upcoming election, Hostin brought up abortion. “What’s also surprising to me is the abortion issue,” she said. “I read a poll just yesterday that white, Republican, suburban women are now going to vote Republican. It’s almost like roaches voting for Raid. Right? They’re voting against — they’re voting against their own self-interests! Do they want to live in Gilead? Do they want to be in the ‘Handmaid’s Tale’?”
Cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin argued that it was insulting to voters for Hostin to demand they vote a certain way, and that women are allowed to have different points of view. But Hostin would not be swayed.
“The fact that women are voting against their own health care,” Hostin continued, adding, “I am very surprised that white Republican suburban women are voting against their own health care. I have not very recently evolved on the issue. I am Catholic, that is my faith, I believe that abortion is wrong… for me. There’s a separation between state — a government — and church. And I do not have the right to tell someone else. However, they are voting against their own self-interest.”
Racist Sunny says "white Republican suburban women" are "roaches" because they're voting for the Republican party.

Though Hostin seems confused at the idea of women being pro-life, according to polling data, 69% of American women believe that abortion should be significantly restricted yet legal — and even a majority of those who call themselves pro-choice (52%) “believe that abortion should be available, at most, during the first three months of pregnancy, allowed only in cases of rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother, or never permitted.”
Abortion also isn’t a religious issue for many people; it’s one of science, which is why there are increasing numbers of secular pro-life activists. A preborn child is a human being, and every single human being is unique and has the intrinsic right to life. And induced abortion — the intentional killing of a human being before birth — is not medically necessary, and it is not “health care.” Hostin’s comparison of pro-life women to roaches simply because she disagrees with them is grossly insulting — and flat-out wrong.
