A recently released 911 call obtained by Operation Rescue reveals that a woman suffering an injury after an abortion at Access Health Care in Downers Grove, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, was forced to request that the facility call 911 for her.
“Uh, I have a patient in a lot of pain and she wants to be taken to the emergency room,” the caller said. The dispatcher, seemingly unaware that Access Health Care is an abortion facility, had to ask for clarification as to what kind of pain the woman was experiencing several times. According to the caller, the woman was experiencing sharp abdominal pain.
Access Health Care commits surgical abortions up to 16 weeks gestation. These second-trimester abortions, known as dilation and evacuation (D&E) procedures, involve a brutal process during which the preborn child is torn apart limb by limb before her skull is finally crushed. Complications, as described by former abortionist Dr. Kathi Aultman in the following video, include uterine perforation, cervical laceration, hemorrhage, and even death.
Shockingly, a similar incident happened at this abortion facility almost exactly one year ago. At that time, a woman demanded that staffers call her an ambulance after the abortionist told her to drive herself to the hospital, despite the fact that she was so badly injured she allegedly couldn’t even stand on her own. Abortion injuries such as these — which occur with regularity at abortion facilities around the country — are evidence that many of these facilities care more about their bottom line than the well-being of the women they serve.
“There is nothing gentle about the cruel act of abortion, nor is there any ambiguity concerning ‘the contents’ being removed,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “When an abortionist is willing to violently dismember a growing baby in the intended safety of his or her mother’s womb, that same callousness naturally extends to the mother.”
