Live Action Applauds USAID’s Bold Condemnation
of Abortion In UN Policy

Washington, D.C.  – Today, the head of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) affirmed the right to life of the preborn child by urging the United Nations Secretary General to stop promoting abortion in policies designed to address the COVID-19 crisis. Live Action applauds the bold leadership of USAID in speaking the truth to this powerful global organization. 

Lila Rose, Founder and President of Live Action, commented: 

“It is unconscionable that the United Nations considers abortion a “right” and is promoting the slaughter of innocent children under the guise of a pandemic response. We are encouraged by the leadership of USAID in pulling back the curtain from the euphemistic “sexual and reproductive health” language of the United Nations, exposing it as an attempt to kill children and exploit women in countries where they are most vulnerable. 

“Let us be clear: Abortion is the direct, and intentional killing of an innocent human being. Killing a child is not healthcare, and abortion only damages  families already hurt by COVID-19.

“There can be no defense of human rights without acknowledging the basic right to life of every human — and that includes the right to be protected from the violent and fatal injustice of abortion. We urge the Administration to continue to hold the UN and global NGOs to this standard of respect for all human life, and to do all in its power to completely ban the killing of preborn children  — the greatest and most wide-reaching injustice of our day.”
