Victory: Planned Parenthood ends abortions at 7 Arizona locations in 3 cities

Good news out of the Grand Canyon State — Planned Parenthood has announced they will stop performing abortions at seven locations across Arizona.

The clinics no longer offering abortions are located in the cities of Prescott Valley, Flagstaff and Yuma. The local Arizona Republic reports:

The move means there will no longer be abortion services in communities outside of metro Phoenix and Tucson. The announcement comes on the heels of an appellate court ruling that upheld a 2009 law placing new restrictions on the procedure — including the requirement that nurse practitioners no longer perform surgical abortions.

According to the article, Planned Parenthood currently operates thirteen clinics across the state, including three that do not offer abortions on-site. That means the hub of Planned Parenthood’s abortion business in Arizona will now be confined to the higher-population areas around Phoenix and Tucson.

So now we know where to focus our activism next!
