Online summit this week will equip women to understand their fertility

Fertility Awareness Based Methods (FABMs) of family planning are forms of family planning (also known as natural family planning) which have been used in religious circles for decades. Now, the empowerment of understanding the female menstrual cycle is going mainstream, thanks to organizations like Natural Womanhood, apps like Natural Cycles, and fertility monitors like Daysy. As Live Action News has previously reported, FABMs can have significant medical impact as well. Medical professionals trained in NaProTechnology use menstrual cycle charting as a starting point to get to the root cause of abnormal bleeding, recurrent miscarriage, PMS, and infertility, among other conditions.

Still, FABMs’ growing popularity faces challenges from organizations reporting outdated effectiveness statistics and incomplete information on these evidence-based methods. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist’s website, for example, states that “In the first year of typical use, 12–24 women out of 100 will become pregnant.” In reality, FABMs range in effectiveness from 95.2% to 99.6%.

For those interested in learning more about their menstrual cycles and what charting could mean for them, or for those just curious about the science behind modern FABMs, The Cycle Power Summit is coming up May 2-5, 2019. Sponsored by Natural Womanhood (link above), FACTS (Fertility Appreciation Collaborative to Teach the Science), and the International Institute for Restorative Reproductive Medicine, this online-only summit will include presentations from 30 speakers, on topics such as: The Sex Ed You Slept Through in 6th Grade, The 5th Vital Sign, Essential Body Literacy for Girls, The Power of Progesterone, Empowering Men Too, Rebounding from the Pill, and Ushering in Women-centric Healthcare.

FABMs should matter to pro-lifers not only because hormonal birth control has serious health risks and because its chemical makeup can destroy a just-begun human life. FABMs should also matter because pro-lifers want what’s best for both women and their children, and every woman deserves to benefit emotionally and physically from the knowledge of what’s going on in her body.

According to the summit website, this conference is meant for:

  • Women. Women who want change. Women who want answers.
  • Medical professionals who want to empower their patients and provide the very best in women’s healthcare.
  • Fertility Awareness educators who are dedicated to knowing the latest in their field and value the power of being in this together.

This conference is FREE when you listen live, and an All-Access Pass option is available to listen to every presentation at any time for one year.
