Operation Rescue is reporting that an abortionist in Miami, Florida, who killed a patient in 2000 and has a history of malpractice lawsuits, has hospitalized another patient.
An ambulance was called to the Eve of Kendall abortion facility on September 28, 2019, for a 33-year-old woman experiencing “consistent bleeding” after an abortion at 22 weeks gestation, according to the abortion facility staff member who called 911. Babies born at 21 weeks — a week younger than this child- – have survived and thrived, and the UK recently lowered the age of viability for preborn children to 22 weeks. Despite the fact that babies of this age are capable of surviving when born prematurely, Eve of Kendall abortion facility commits abortions into the second trimester.
“We have a patient,” the staff member told the 911 dispatcher. “She came in for a second trimester abortion. The procedure was done. She’s stable. Her blood pressure is 105/60 but she’s having consistent bleeding…. The bleedings not stopping, so the doctor’s just comfortable transferring her to the hospital.”

The caller continued, saying, “[The bleeding] hasn’t completely stopped. It’ll pause, then he’ll do stomach massages, but then it will keep on. It hasn’t completely stopped.”
The abortionist at Eve of Kendall is Gerald Applegate, whom Operation Rescue states was involved in the death of patient Jule Speicher, 32, in 2000. Speicher was pregnant with her third child and a routine check-up showed that the baby had died. Applegate attempted to remove the baby but Speicher suffered c0mplications and died.
Applegate also had his license suspended for misconduct in Pennsylvania in 2004, and again four years later in New York. He was under suspension by Magee-Women’s Hospital at the time of Speicher’s death and he has had multiple malpractice suits filed against him.
