AMAZING: Couple’s coworker scheduled an abortion… then she remembered they hoped to adopt

Like many couples struggling with infertility, Tricia and her husband Scott had been trying for years to conceive when they began the process of adoption. But their journey to parenthood was going to be one they could never have imagined.

Once approved for adoption, the couple continued to wait for a baby as a few years went by. They wondered if they were ever going to become parents and began to accept that this might not be a possibility for them. There are 36 couples waiting to adopt for every one baby placed for adoption, but an unknown glitch in their paperwork added to the wait for the couple.

“We thought, maybe God had other plans for us,” Tricia told Right to Life of Michigan. “We committed to thoroughly spoiling our nieces and nephews.”

Then one of Scott’s coworkers, who had always been supportive of their desire to adopt, sent them an unexpected Facebook message. She was pregnant but felt ill-prepared to raise a child. She had planned on having an abortion, but then she thought of Tricia and Scott.

“She was going to terminate – she was actually on her way to the appointment, but she said she remembered Scott and I, and how much we wanted a baby but couldn’t have one,” said Tricia. “She realized the weight of her decision and decided to reach out to us.”

The new parents were in the delivery room to welcome their daughter Kyndal on October 7, 2017. For Tricia, who is also adopted, it was “like coming full circle.” Kyndal is now two years old and is a joy to her parents, including her birth mother, who is able to visit her thanks to open adoption.

“She is the sweetest, most beautiful blessing,” said Tricia. “It was all definitely orchestrated by God. I just think, if we had even had children when we were first trying, Kyndal might never have been born.”

The knowledge that Kyndal’s birth mother could have gone through with the abortion had everything gone according to their original plans is not lost on the couple. They are grateful, said Tricia, that “God is always faithful.”

Kyndal’s birth mother told Tricia that she once thought she would feel guilty placing her child for adoption, but that instead, she has found she is happy knowing that Kyndal is being raised by good parents.

“It gives me peace knowing her birth mom is also at peace,” said Tricia.

The couple wanted to share their story and reached out to Kyndal’s birth mother who gave them permission. They all hope that it will bring some peace to others who are still on the journey to parenthood. Perhaps their story will help another woman choose life and adoption for her baby.
