California approves controversial pro-abortion sex ed program for preteens

A California school district has approved a sex ed program for preteens that promote extreme sex acts, as well as abortion, despite significant parent outcry against it. The Santa Barbara Unified School District unanimously approved the Health Connected Teen Talk curriculum in a 5-0 vote earlier this month, even as parents voiced overwhelming opposition.

Noozhawk, a local online newspaper dedicated to covering Santa Barbara County, reported that nearly all of the 80 parents who came to the hearing about the Teen Talk curriculum were against it being put into place. This included supermodel Kathy Ireland, who said Planned Parenthood teaches kids they can get an abortion without their parents ever knowing. “Teen Talk violates Christian, Jewish and Muslim faith,” Ireland said in the meeting. “It violates science. It oversexualizes our children, and it violates our precious children and it does not deal with the aftermath.”

Other parents complained that the curriculum is too explicit or too graphic, claiming that Teen Talk promotes things like anal sex as an alternative pregnancy prevention method. Still other parents, according to the Santa Barbara News-Press, said parents were not adequately notified or educated about the curriculum before the school board took action, especially Spanish-speaking families, as the report released by the district was only offered in English.

The Teen Talk website does not make the curriculum available online, although the table of contents includes sections on birth control and “pregnancy options.” The website further assures children that they can be treated without their parents finding out, and notes that there are even options to help them pay through the state. The clinic locator directs children to several Planned Parenthood facilities under the umbrella of the Planned Parenthood Mar Monte affiliate.

In a previous Live Action investigation, Planned Parenthood was caught giving dangerous advice to children about sex. Minor girls were advised to experiment with BDSM and to role-play. Whipping, choking, asphyxiation, violent torture sex, and experimentation with horsewhips, clamps, and ropes were presented as normal and healthy (not abusive), as was sex leaving welts, burns, and marks. Girls were also given advice on how to work their way into having anal sex.

Additionally, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte is one of numerous affiliates found to be complicit in the harvesting and sale of aborted body parts by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP). Invoices revealed by CMP earlier this year found that in just three months, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte netted $25,000 for fetal organs.

Given this information, it seems parents have reason to be concerned about their children and Planned Parenthood.
