Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody has filed a lawsuit against members of Antifa and activists for the pro-abortion group Jane’s Revenge for allegedly vandalizing pro-life pregnancy centers (PRC) in Florida, according to Florida Voice.
“Antifa and Jane’s Revenge are criminal organizations and must answer for their crimes in Florida,” Moody said. “I am taking action to hold their members accountable for attempting to intimidate and threaten law abiding citizens in our state.”
The lawsuit, in which Moody uses the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act to defend the PRCs, was specifically filed against Caleb Hunter Freestone and Amber Marie Smith-Stewart, who Moody said are members of Antifa and Jane’s Revenge. Moody is asking the federal court to assess damages and fines against Freestone and Smith-Stewart of $170,000 each, arguing that they violated the FACE Act — which protects both abortion facilities and pro-life centers — when they took part in the vandalism of three pregnancy centers in May and June of 2022, following the leak of the Supreme Court draft decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The Justice Department indicted both pro-abortion activists on FACE Act charges in January.
The PRCs attacked were South Broward Pregnancy Help Center, LifeChoice, and Heartbeat of Miami. Freestone and Smith-Stewart allegedly spray-painted the threat, “If abortions aren’t safe, neither are you” on the wall of Heartbeat Miami and the threats “YOUR TIME IS UP!!”, “WE’RE COMING FOR YOU”, and “We are everywhere” on the LifeChoice building. The buildings were also spray-painted with “ABORTION 4 ALL” and “Janes was here.” The pro-abortion activists also allegedly damaged the property of South Broward Pregnancy Help Center.
“Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is leading the effort to protect all faith-based pregnancy care centers across the country. The rule of law compels this lawsuit. If you use violence as a means to advance your disagreement, you will be held accountable by the law,” First Liberty President, CEO and Chief Counsel Kelly Shackelford said. First Liberty is also filing a lawsuit on behalf of the PRCs.
While the media — including the television show “Grey’s Anatomy” — continue to claim pro-lifers are the ones violently attacking abortionists and abortion businesses, according to FBI Director Christopher Wray, 70% of abortion-related violence since the Supreme Court leak have been carried out by pro-abortion activists against pro-lifers.
