Planned Parenthood in Illinois injures two women in less than two weeks

A Planned Parenthood facility in Flossmoor, Illinois, on the outskirts of Chicago, recently sent two women to the hospital in less than two weeks.

Operation Rescue reported on the two injuries, which both took place in July, and obtained the audio from the 911 calls. The first emergency took place on July 13, and involved a 29-year-old woman experiencing seizures after having an abortion.

In the 911 call, the Planned Parenthood staffer oddly refused at first to confirm the address. After confirming that the staffer was calling from Planned Parenthood, the 911 dispatcher gave the address, only for the staffer to reply, “Actually no, but that’s OK.” She did not give the correct address after that, prompting the dispatcher to question her.

“You don’t have any place to send?” she asked, and when she received no reply, asked, “Hello?”

The staffer, contradicting what she just said, then answered, “Yeah, that would be correct.” Then she began speaking about the emergency, but again, behaving oddly, said they had a “code abortion,” raising questions about what that might mean.

“Uh, we do have a patient, that she, um, code, um, abortion,” she said. “And I think she’s kind of having a seizure, but she thinks she’s OK. So, I’m not sure.”

The second emergency took place on July 25, with the patient hemorrhaging this time. This time, the staffer did not dispute the address, although they did direct paramedics to come to the back entrance. And once again, they referred to a “code abortion.”

“We have a patient that needs to be transferred to the hospital,” the staffer said; when asked what was wrong with the patient, she replied, “Code — code abortion.”

The dispatcher had to ask five times what was wrong with the person before finally receiving an answer. “So, it’s post-abortion,” the staffer finally said. “They’re having some uncontrolled bleeding from the cervix.”

Numerous women have been injured at this Planned Parenthood facility, including incidents involving two women within two days. Earlier this year, one of the facility’s escorts was also charged with battery for an unprovoked attack on a pro-life sidewalk counselor.

Operation Rescue President Troy Newman said in a statement that the use of code words may be an attempt to hide the reality of abortion injuries.

“They know 911 calls are public records. They know abortion is not safe and they want to minimize awareness of the serious risks that it can bring to women, using vague and ambiguous language to cover up the grave danger of these emergencies,” he said. “We are noticing that these clinics are using this strategy more frequently to avoid being held accountable for the damage an abortion can bring, not only to a baby, whose life is ended in a cruel way, but to the mother as well. These bloody ‘businesses’ must be held accountable.”
