The incredible way this ‘pro-life hot dog man’ is saving lives… one hot dog at a time

If you’re searching for a bite to eat in rural Arizona, you may come upon a hot dog stand with an unusual sign outside that reads, “Free Pro-Life Hot Dogs. Savor the Flavor, Save a Life.” This sign isn’t an accident — it’s designed to get people talking about the most important issue of the day: abortion.

The man behind the hot dog stand is Elvin Fant, Sr. “There’s an old saying that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach,” Want told Live Action. He’s had his hot dog stand for over a year, and said he felt the Lord was calling him to do something for the pro-life cause — so he was inspired to take a new and innovative approach. His goal is to “enter into a conversation every day” about abortion and what it means to be pro-life.

“You’re not going to have a lot of success if you walk up to someone on the street and say, ‘Let’s talk about pro-life, what do you think about pro-life?’ You’ve got to come in the second door,” he explained.

Fant said his burgeoning involvement in the pro-life movement led him to become a Live Action Ambassador. He praised the program, which involves training, content, and resources to help educate and equip anyone to share the pro-life message more effectively.

Amazingly, Fant helps to spread the pro-life message by showing Live Action’s YouTube content — especially Live Action’s man-on-the-street interviews showing minds changed, along with “Baby Olivia” content — on a TV mounted to his hot dog stand.

“I play them on there while they’re waiting for their hot dog, and I’ve got their ear, and I’m going to talk to them about it,” he said.

What’s also amazing is that all of Fant’s hot dogs are free. Any tips or donations he receives, he donates to Live Action.

“It doesn’t matter if I go out for the day and all I get is $10. That $10, it gives me a lot of satisfaction,” he said, remarking that Live Action says it can reach 140 people with a donation of that size. He says he’s raised about $5,000 in the time he’s had his hot dog stand, and that this means his donation has been used to reach “70,000 people with the truth about abortion. That’s why I am sold out on Live Action, because of that very thing.”

Fant emotionally added, “I feel like I’m making a difference from me taking up space in this world. I know that I’m saving babies. I know that I’m saving the peace of mind of the young women. No doubt in my mind.”
