Dr. LeRoy Carhart, who commits late-term abortions, used no euphemisms in an interview with British reporter Hilary Andersson for the BBC on July 22, 2019. In a report called “America’s Abortion War,” the following exchange took place:
Carhart: To the fetus is makes no difference whether it’s born or not born. The baby has no input in this, as far as I’m concerned.
Hilary Andersson: But it’s interesting that you use the word baby because a lot of abortionists won’t use that. They’ll use the term fetus because they don’t want to acknowledge that there’s a life.
Carhart: I- I think that it is a baby and I tell our- I use it with the patients.
Hilary Andersson: And you don’t have a problem with killing a baby?
Carhart: (Pause) I have no problem if it’s in the mother’s uterus.
Andersson looked surprised and unsettled by Carhart’s honesty.
This frank admission of committing murder is unusual for an abortionist – but not that unusual. Other abortionists too have admitted they kill human beings. However, these confessions are not usually made on international television. They are more often hidden in obscure sources such as medical journals or made in forums away from the public eye.
Carhart’s admission that he tells his patients he is going to kill their babies seems to be true, according to an undercover investigation done by Live Action in 2013. Live Action sent a woman in her 26th week of pregnancy to Dr. LeRoy Carhart’s Nebraska abortion facility claiming to want an abortion, outfitted with a hidden camera. In the video, Carhart jokes about taking the woman’s preborn child apart with a “drillbit” and a “pickax.” After describing how he would inject the baby with poison to kill the child three days before inducing labor, Carhart joked about the dead baby’s body being like “meat in a crockpot.”
At one point in the dialogue, Carhart assures the woman that her baby will be born dead:
Woman: …OK, so is that on the first day, there are 2 shots, and that is what kills the baby…. And then will it, will it take very long to–to die?
Carhart: It, most of the time it takes about an hour and a half to two hours…. Sometimes if we get a lot of it into the circulation it’ll be 10, 15, 20 minutes, but that’s very, very rare…
Woman: Right. But the baby will be, so it’s just like a normal delivery.
Carhart: Except the baby’s not alive.
Woman: OK, so the baby’s dead.
It is hard to understand how Carhart can rationalize killing hundreds of “babies” — his words — every year. It’s also hard to understand how so many pro-abortion activists can deny that Carhart kills babies even though he himself freely admits that he does. It seems that for once, Carhart and pro-lifers agree: he kills babies.
