Blog post: I aborted my boy because he is a “monster” and an “enemy”

InjusticeStories.com printed a story by Lana in January of 2015: “I Aborted My Baby – Because it Was a Boy.” Lana, who claims to be a feminist, writes that she “WAS ready to have this child.”

When she first discovered she was pregnant, she willingly called the baby a “child.” And yet, when she discovered the child was a boy, he became an “it,” a “monster,” and one of her “enemies.”

As a self-titled feminist, Lana describes an incident in her article where a man on an airplane “leaned in and quietly said to me ‘B****** like you need to learn their place.'” She equates this to being “verbally and emotionally raped.” And she uses this to provide an example of why she simply couldn’t allow another man to be born into this world.

The horrifying hypocrisy is that Lana believes that the cruel words of one person are similar to rape while she somehow cannot see that the cruel, violent actions of abortion are equivalent to murder. She was targeted by sexist words because of her gender, and yet she willingly targeted her own son with a sexist killing because of his gender. She literally paid an abortionist to put her son to death because of biological characteristics that he did not choose and could not help.

Lana subjected her son to a late-term abortion – one done after 20 weeks, where he scientifically felt pain. All of his systems and organs were in place, he had been moving, kicking, sucking his thumb – and yawning – for weeks now. He was undeniably human. To be aborted, he would almost certainly have to be torn to pieces.

Lana describes her emotions after finding out she was pregnant with a son instead of a daughter:

Crying, sobbing, uncontrollable weeping, mental anguish the likes of which may only be experienced by those who have had their lives destroyed by war…

She further details her feelings about her son:

I was in shock, I started crying, weeping at the thought of what I was about to curse the world with. …

I couldn’t bring another monster into the world. We already have enough enemies as it is.

Abortion-Instruments, tools of the tradeAnd even though she specifically admits that “not all men are bad,” Lana still decided that her son deserved the penalty of death for being biologically male.

Simply because of the beliefs that her baby “may” have held once he grew up, Lana literally paid to have him executed.

I stand by my decision to abort my baby because it was a male.

I don’t hate men, I hate the patriarchy, what men, and even some women, turn into, I wasn’t going to let that happen with my offspring. The chances were greater that it would with a male, it was unacceptable.

If the curse returns, I would do the exact same thing all over again.

In response to many emails and comments about her decision, Lana insists that it was her right to do what she wanted “with my own body.” Ironic, since it was her son’s body – a biologically male body – that was killed, likely dismembered, and destroyed for his mother’s beliefs.

It’s easy to be horrified and disgusted by a choice like Lana’s. And yet, in reality, every abortion is equally horrible. Every other abortion also takes the life of an innocent, unique, living human being. Every other abortion also imposes one person’s “liberty” over another person’s life.

When we accept abortion for every woman’s personal reason, Lana’s targeting of male children is exactly what we’re accepting. If it was wrong for her to kill her child for being a boy, it is just as wrong to kill a child for any other “personal” reason.

No matter the reason, and no matter the age of the child involved, abortion is murder. Plain, simple, and horrifying.
