Heartbreaking video: Father sobs, begs girlfriend not to abort their baby

man grieves abort baby

A pair of heartbreaking videos showing a father sobbing and pleading with his girlfriend not to abort their baby as she enters an abortion facility have gone viral on social media. The father’s story was shared by John Ryan, a pro-life advocate in Missouri, and quickly spread like wildfire across Facebook and Twitter.

In the first video, the man, who Ryan identified as Tyler, sobs in anguish and screams for his girlfriend, Abby, to save their baby. “No, please don’t kill our baby!” Tyler can be heard crying. “Abby, don’t kill our baby! Abby!” In the second video, Tyler can be seen sitting on the curb, still crying, as sidewalk advocates try to comfort him. “I’m such a good Dad,” he said. “I took care of her kids, too. And the other guy she’s let back in her life doesn’t even take care of his own kids.”

According to Ryan, Abby is a victim of abuse — and was brought to the abortion facility by her stepmother, one of her abusers. Tyler said said she has three children, including a four-year-old who knows about the preborn baby, who was apparently originally planned. Why the circumstances changed and Abby began to seek out abortion was not shared, other than Tyler’s mentioning of “the other guy she’s let back in her life.”

The facility in the video appears to be the Hope Clinic for Women, an abortion facility in Granite City, Illinois, on the border of Missouri and Illinois. The notorious facility was sued by a former patient after abortionist Yogendra Shah committed an abortion procedure on a woman who was not even pregnant. The victim, Melanie Mills, said Shah never even gave her a pregnancy test, and she suffered guilt and regret for years until her gynecologist told her she had a blighted ovum, and had never been pregnant to begin with. Shah sued Mills in response, but lost his lawsuit.

“I hope no other woman will ever have to go through the mental torment of thinking they killed their child,” she told Operation Rescue. “Not until I found I was not pregnant at the time of the abortion did I have peace of mind and Dr. Shah knew when the abortion was performed there was no baby, but he did not tell me. I have lived with the guilt until I found out the truth and it has taken a tremendous emotional toll on my life and my family.”

Ryan, who filmed the video, is the same pro-life sidewalk advocate who was threatened last year by a man who pulled a loaded gun on him outside Hope Clinic. “This wasn’t just a guy who had a rifle, he pointed it at me,” he told Townhall, admitting that the incident unnerved him. Yet it hasn’t kept him from continuing to advocate for the preborn outside of the abortion facility.

While Ryan could not be sure, he believes Abby did abort her baby. At 12 weeks, the baby has a heartbeat, responds to touch, has her own unique fingerprints, can respond to touch, and smile.
