Lila Rose statement on Select Panel investigation of profits from sales of aborted baby body parts

ARLINGTON, VA (April 20, 2016) – Statement from Lila Rose, president and founder of the pro-life organization Live Action, on today’s U.S. House Select Investigative Panel hearing on Planned Parenthood profiting from the sale of aborted baby body parts:

“While Planned Parenthood has lied to the American people for nine months, saying it was selling aborted baby organs for the good of medical research, today’s evidence overwhelmingly demonstrates it was instead lining its pockets and profiting off mothers and their aborted babies.

“The evidence clearly shows that Planned Parenthood had little to no out-of-pocket expenses – a fact that was reinforced by Planned Parenthood’s Dr. Mary Gatter – yet it received money to allow outside tissue brokers to pick through pans of baby parts for the choicest pieces to sell.

“The tepid defense from abortion advocates was that they didn’t believe the subpoenaed evidence in front of their eyes and their tired lie that the CMP videos were misleading, even though the videos weren’t part of the evidence presented today.

“It’s disturbing to see pro-abortion members of the panel ignore the mountain of evidence presented today.  One has to wonder if the $400,000 in campaign contributions* the pro-abortion members of the panel received from the abortion industry has something to do with their continued defense of the indefensible.

“Millions of Americans agree with former federal prosecutor Brian Lennon, who said a competent and ethical prosecutor would find probable cause to investigate several violations of federal laws.  It’s an injustice for those poor children that no prosecutor has yet stepped forward to do just that.”
