Dangerous Michigan abortion facility injures three women in one week

ambulance, abortion, planned parenthood

Eastland Women’s Center in Michigan, an abortion facility with a troubled history, sent three women to the hospital this year within just one week.

According to Operation Rescue, two of the incidents took place on the same day: February 4, 2022. In both cases, the ambulances were called for uncontrollable bleeding.

With the first emergency, a staffer was heard on a recording coaching the caller on what to tell the 911 dispatcher, saying, “You could say she’s bleeding.” After that, the dispatcher answered and an ambulance was requested, but was instructed to come to the back door.

“We have a patient that is bleeding heavy,” the second staffer said, and after conferring with someone in the background, added that the patient was 23. While neither the extent of the woman’s injuries nor the cause of her bleeding is known, the staffer asked when the ambulance would arrive, possibly indicating some desperation on the part of the facility to get the woman to the hospital quickly.

Hours later, staff called 911 again. This time, a woman had undergone a second trimester abortion procedure, and was on the second day of the procedure. The process for later abortions often takes several days, as abortionists use laminaria to dilate the cervix for 24-48 hours, before having the woman come back to undergo the rest of the procedure.

“So, we have a patient that had a procedure done today,” the staffer began. “Um, actually, she started yesterday, finished today. But she is bleeding uncontrollably.” Once again, the ambulance was instructed to go to the back door.

The third emergency took place a week later, on February 11. “Um, we have a patient that’s bleeding… heavily, that we’ve kind of exhausted all of our measures, so we need her transferred, please,” the staffer said, adding, “She’s stable at this moment. She’s just bleeding heavier than we’d like. We’d like her taken in for an evaluation.”

The condition of the three patients is not known at this time.

Eastland Women’s Clinic has a troubled history, including injuring other women; one patient overdosed on painkillers during an abortion, while other women have suffered severe hemorrhage and possible uterine perforation. There are also concerns that the facility does not report the statutory rape of minors as required by law.

The facility also gained notoriety after owner and operator Angel Ojeda was placed on probation for not properly securing drugs or reporting them when they were stolen, including fentanyl. The drugs turned out to have been stolen by the facility’s abortionist, Michael Roth, who stole in order to commit abortions out of his car. When police caught Roth, they found 14 tubs in his vehicle, which contained the remains of aborted babies.
