New ‘Nefarious’ film defies Hollywood’s typical portrayals of abortion

The entertainment industry is one of the abortion industry’s biggest propaganda outlets.

So many screenplays utter talking points that could be found on any pamphlet inside an abortionist’s business. For example, “Call Jane” is a movie that lionizes the pro-abortion group Jane’s Collective, a precursor to the domestic terror group Jane’s Revenge. That particular film did not sit well with audiences. But the pro-abortion propaganda does not end with scripts themselves.

Celebrities like Chris Rock, Sally Field, Matthew McConaughey, Jane Fonda, and director Jane Campion are just a small batch of the names within Hollywood that have promoted the views espoused by organizations like Planned Parenthood. And yet, from time to time, a film or movie will challenge Hollywood’s targeting of the preborn, either intentionally or unintentionally. “Gosnell,” “Juno,” “I Am Mother,” and now the new film “Nefarious,” defy those portrayals set forth by abortion industry supporters.

Loosely based on the bestselling novel, “A Nefarious Plot,” written by conservative radio host Steve Deace, the film “Nefarious” tells the story of psychiatrist Dr. James Martin, portrayed by Jordan Belfi, who is interviewing a prisoner on death row (Edward) played by Sean Patrick Flanery. The prisoner claims to be possessed by a demon, which he says led to the crimes for which he was sentenced.

During their interaction in one scene, Edward reveals that he knows Dr. Martin’s girlfriend is about to have an abortion and that the psychiatrist will abandon her once the deed is done. Dr. Martin responds with all of the usual pro-abortion talking points, claiming it is her body and therefore her choice, adding that he is not ready to be a father. He refers to the killing of his preborn child euphemistically as an “elective termination.”

The prisoner, Edward, then mocks Dr. Martin, telling him that all Hell celebrates when a child is deliberately killed in the womb. In a panic, Dr. Martin rushes to stop his girlfriend with a phone call, only to discover that it is too late. He shows regret about the decision and confronts Edward about his knowledge. The prisoner dismisses this, telling him it was a murder.

The scene, though difficult, is a surprising change of pace for a Hollywood movie. Most films, if they discuss abortion at all, do not show or even mention the truth about what happens during an abortion, instead portraying it as a simple procedure for women while avoiding any discussion of the child’s death.

An induced abortion at any stage is the direct and intentional ending of a human life that already exists but is not yet delivered. Most abortions are currently done via the abortion pill regimen, which involves two different drugs; the first (mifepristone) starves the child of nutrients and the second (misoprostol) causes uterine contractions to expel the child.

The next most common form of abortion is also done in the first trimester and is a suction D&C. This method uses suction more powerful than a vacuum in the uterus to remove the developing child, often shredding the child into unrecognizable body parts in the process. Research has shown that by the end of the first trimester, the preborn child has the capacity to feel pain as it is killed.

Former abortionist Dr. Kathi Aultman describes the brutal D&E “dismemberment” abortion in the video below, which is typically utilized to end preborn humans’ lives in the second trimester between 13 and 26 weeks. Describing the instrument used to dismember the preborn child, Dr. Aultman says, “At the tip, there are rows of teeth for grasping.” She then describes the stomach-churning “procedure.”

“The abortionist reaches into the uterus with the clamp and tries to grasp an arm or leg,” she says. “Once the abortionist has a firm grip, she pulls forcefully in order to remove the limb. Piece by piece, the abortionist removes the arms and legs followed by the head or the body, including the torso and the pelvis, along with their internal organs, the intestines, the spine, and the heart and lungs. The placenta is also removed.”

The abortion industry and their propagandists in Hollywood conveniently leave out the truth about what happens during an abortion.

“Nefarious” takes the opposite approach. Through the protagonist’s dialogue, we hear all of the flowery, euphemistic language that the propagandists use, while the antagonist mocks this and declares abortion for what it truly is: the direct and intentional killing of a child in the womb. No amount of Hollywood glamour can hide that fact.
