Obama and willful lies – Does he finally understand?

Yesterday, after the U.S. Senate failed to pass the bill on universal background checks for gun purchases, President Obama gave a speech in the Rose Garden. Reports have claimed that he was “angry,” that he “lashed out,” and that the loss was an “emotional blow” to the president. Indeed, President Obama has spent many hours for months campaigning for gun restrictions. And it seems that sensible people could reach a compromise to protect the innocent among us, while still preserving our constitutional rights.

Yet, in the midst of his anger or sorrow, the president resorted to accusations. He said:

In all likelihood, President Obama truly cares to make a difference on this issue for the right reasons. But his accusations bring his own statements and his own much-loved abortion lobby into question. Shall we talk about willful lies? Let’s.

In this video, Cecile Richards – president of Planned Parenthood and hardcore Obama campaigner – willfully lies about her organization providing mammograms:

Sorry, but it’s not that difficult to make it abundantly clear that – while your organization can recommend a facility for women to get a mammogram at – you do not, in fact, perform mammograms yourself.

During the 2012 campaign, The Washington Post detailed the multiple times President Obama also led voters to believe the wrong information about Planned Parenthood – clearly one of his favorite pastimes. Perhaps his worst statement came in October of 2012:

One can fairly assume that the president of the United States would be aware that multiple county health departments actually do provide women with free mammograms – not to mention pap smears, cancer screenings, and the like. Planned Parenthood is not a woman’s last or only hope. But, as The Washington Post aptly put it:

Willful lies indeed. And a “pattern of spreading untruths” that “served a purpose.” Let’s talk some more.

The Washington Post

also wrote that evidence pointed to another lie by President Obama during his ’08 campaign – this time on the issue of Born-Alive Infants Protection Acts. (These acts protect babies who survive abortions and order that they be properly cared for as newborns.)

So basically, Obama was lying when he accused other people of lying. What a mess. And all this to hide his extreme abortion policies that are clearly out of touch with the American people.

Obama’s position on infants who survive abortion is exactly the kind of position that allows the horrors committed by Kermit Gosnell. And even now, Obama refuses to speak out against the actions of Gosnell. Could it be because he would still refuse to vote to protect these babies, who were cruelly tortured and murdered?

Combine these willful lies by President Obama with other shady statements made by him or his staff, and you have a president who should understand what lies can do. Now that he believes that the lies have been directed to something he cares about, will President Obama stop his track record of misleading the public on Planned Parenthood and abortion?

If truth is what matters, it matters on every issue, Mr. President, not just your pet issues…
