Since the release of Live Action’s investigative video exposing the lack of care Planned Parenthood gives to pregnant women who want to keep their children, Planned Parenthood has been busy purging their websites of the term “prenatal.” Despite years of claiming that Planned Parenthood offers prenatal care to women, the backlash from Live Action’s investigation which exposed Planned Parenthood’s deception was so egregious that the abortion corporation had to backtrack — and fast.
Planned Parenthood masquerades as a primary health care organization, when they are actually an abortion corporation whose market share of reported abortions exceeds 34 percent of the national market share. Shockingly, at one time, Planned Parenthood suggested in their annual report for fiscal year 1996-1997 that prenatal care was the organization’s “fastest growing area.”
But Planned Parenthood’s short-lived initiative to “implement a comprehensive prenatal care model” appears to have failed. The truth is that abortion has always been Planned Parenthood’s focus, which might explain why this once “fastest growing service” dropped nearly 44 percent from 2010 to 2014.
Planned Parenthood and its spokespersons — both official and unofficial — often tout prenatal services as a reason NOT to defund Planned Parenthood. In just one example (because there are several), on July 29, 2015, Senator Dianne Feinstein came to the floor of the U.S. Senate in support of Planned Parenthood, touting prenatal care as a reason not to defund the organization, saying in part:
I’d like to say just a little bit about the services Planned Parenthood provides and how it uses federal funds…Planned Parenthood is often the only option for women to get their annual checkup. It provides breast exams, contraception, prenatal care, cancer screenings, and testing for sexually transmitted diseases including for HIV.
The media generally fails to verify the truth of Planned Parenthood’s claims, so these unchallenged claims were the impetus behind Live Action’s investigation where 97 Planned Parenthood facilities were called — many which published “prenatal services” in bold text under the page “Pregnancy Testing & Services” on their websites. Our investigators discovered that, with few exceptions, Planned Parenthood staffers stated they did not offer prenatal care. The reason most often given was because Planned Parenthood provides abortions instead.
This reality hardly makes Planned Parenthood the necessary provider for all women it claims to be. It also does not justify why the organization receives over half a billion dollars in tax dollars annually.
After Live Action’s investigation published, several news outlets attempted to claim that Planned Parenthood never said they offered prenatal care. Live Action News called out one such media outlet in Arizona, documenting that the service was listed boldly on their websites. This fact removed media cover for Planned Parenthood’s prenatal deception, most likely prompting them to begin purging their sites of the term. As a small sample of screen grabs from Planned Parenthood’s websites shows, the term “prenatal” in bold on the left-hand side captured approximately one week ago has disappeared from Planned Parenthood sites, as shown in the right-hand images captured on February 3, 2017.

Live Action News was not the only one to discover this purging.
Following Live Action’s investigation, the Pennsylvania Family Institute did their own research by calling all 27 Planned Parenthood locations in their state asking one basic question: “Do you offer prenatal services?” They report that “not one location said yes.”
“Every single Planned Parenthood in PA has no prenatal services.”
The organization later discovered that Planned Parenthood had purged the term “prenatal” off sites in Pennsylvania as well:
The Pennsylvania Family Institute’s release reads as follow:
After a new report and video from the PA Family Institute showed each Planned Parenthood affiliate in Pennsylvania does not provide prenatal services, even though they listed ‘prenatal’ online, the abortion giant has since removed ‘prenatal’ from their booking appointments website. ‘Prenatal’ services still appears for each affiliate through internet search engines.
Since the release of Live Action’s Prenatal Deception Investigation, followed by our Ultrasounds Used for Killing Investigation, we have shown that with few exceptions, the only service Planned Parenthood offers to pregnant women is abortion. It is time for the media and politicians to stop advancing Planned Parenthood’s propaganda that they are a healthcare organization.
Planned Parenthood’s own actions in this great purge prove they know the truth, too.
