Planned Parenthood promises teens $150 gift cards to complete ‘sex ed summer camp’

A Minnesota Planned Parenthood is offering to pay teens to take part in its “sex ed summer camp” with gift cards ranging from $100 to $150, outraging some parents.

According to Fox News, Planned Parenthood North Central States (PPNCS) had planned to host a three-week S’MORE (science-based, medically accurate, open-minded, responsible [sex] education) camp. The camp was free for teens ages 13 to 15 who have completed eighth grade but have not yet started high school, but the web page for the camp has been removed. It can be viewed here and here. PPNCS is also hosting a second camp for those ages 15-18.

According to the archived camp page for 13-15-year-olds, the camp was geared towards turning young teens into peer sex advisors. “This … summer camp is a challenging leadership development program. Our camp follows a model called Reach One Teach One, which [is] a peer education program. The key to the program is that campers learn sex ed and then practice sharing their new knowledge with peers and the community. That might look like starting a conversation with family members, piping up in a discussion in the community, or acting as a resource for others on their social media. We don’t expect every camper to leave this program as a public speaker, rather as someone who is willing to proactively broach sexual health topics using accurate information, especially when other teens and adults flounder.” In other words, the abortion group is expecting teens to share what they learn with their friends — becoming advocates for Planned Parenthood’s ideas on sexuality.

It continued, “As part of S’MORE, campers are expected to have 10 conversations about what they’re learning at camp over the course of the program. Though the camp has only 6 half-day in-person gatherings over 3 weeks, we think it is a full-size commitment. The program doesn’t end on the last day, instead there is an extra week for campers to complete their 10 conversations before a graduation ceremony where they receive a $100 Visa gift card for their important work.” The “camp” was free to attend and teens would be paid to successfully regurgitate the information they have been taught, and the proselytize their friends. The site also stated they were specifically encouraging “shy” teens to join.

As for the camp for older kids, it still appears to be scheduled. A tweet from Planned Parenthood Minnesota Advocates states that lunch is free for the teens, and those who complete the camp will be given a $150 gift card.

“I care passionately about the wellbeing of all children and the generation my kids are growing up alongside,” Karin, a Minnesota mother told Fox & Friends Weekend. “I think most parents and most families would firmly agree that we don’t want people sexualizing our children and that’s exactly what this camp will do.”

Karin believes Planned Parenthood is trying to influence children and that it has now resorted to paying them in order to gain access. She said, “I think it’s a very fine line between giving a teen financial incentive to talk about sexual activity and role-play… versus crossing the line to actually physically performing that activity and getting paid for doing it.”

She believes the abortion corporation is “conditioning kids for sex trafficking.”

Planned Parenthood has come under fire for its extreme and dangerous sex ed. It is known to push contraception, abortion, and no-strings-attached sex. In June, parents were blindsided when a Washington state elementary school used Planned Parenthood sex lessons without notifying them. Radio host Jason Rantz reported, “Materials presented by Planned Parenthood included drawings of pubic hair shaped like an animal, and students were told they could pick from a number of contrived genders to identify as. Some of the materials promoted medication to block puberty.”

Also in June, Canada’s Planned Parenthood Regina brought a deck of sex vocabulary cards to a 9th-grade class. The cards featured sexual information so inappropriate, it is not suitable for Live Action News to republish. The website depicting the cards is now inaccessible.

“These programs are created to teach children about sexuality in order for them to become sexually active,” explained former Planned Parenthood family planning Training Manager Monica Cline, adding, “These programs are about sexualizing children and leading them to abortion. That is what sex education is. Comprehensive sexuality education is all about grooming children, and using it as a marketing tool to lead to abortion.”
