Reward offered for identifying man who assaulted elderly pro-lifers

Last month, two elderly sidewalk counselors were brutally attacked outside a Baltimore Planned Parenthood facility. Now, a reward has been offered for anyone who identifies the man responsible for the assault.

As Live Action News previously reported, Mark Crosby and Dick Schaefer were praying peacefully outside of the abortion facility when a man, estimated to be in his 20s, attacked both of them. His photo has now been released, and Metro Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to his identification, according to WBAL-TV. A witness, who wanted to remain anonymous, said the assailant “went on a rampage” because he didn’t like Crosby and Schaefer’s pro-life witness.

“He didn’t like their opinion or what was being said. The gentleman just took it into his own hands,” the witness said. “He speared the one gentleman over that flowerpot into the window and knocked him out. He was out cold for several minutes.”

The attacker allegedly first went after Schaefer, who is 80. Crosby, who is 73, tried to help his friend, only for the attacker’s rage to be directed toward him instead. Schaefer told WBAL-TV that Crosby saved his life; Schaefer and the witness both said the attacker not only repeatedly punched Crosby in the face, but also stomped on him.

According to the ACLJ, which is representing the two men, Schaefer had cuts and scrapes all over his body. Crosby, however, suffered more extensive and traumatic injuries, including “a fractured bone in his face, blindness in one eye, head and neck pain, two fractured fingers, and bruising on his arms and legs.” He will likely need to undergo several surgeries. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Crosby and has raised over $40,000 so far.

The assailant is described as a 20-something white male, last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, blue jeans, and brown shoes. He has brown hair, a full beard, and is estimated to be about six feet tall.
