Three disturbing racist quotes by abortionists

In my research on the abortion issue, I have come across many statements from abortionists and clinic workers. Some of the most disturbing were about minorities. In a future article, I will give examples of pro-choice activists using racism to gain support for abortion. In this article, I would like to present three disturbing quotes by abortion providers.

Dr. Edward Allred owns a chain of abortion clinics called “Family Planning Associates Medical Group.” Their website can be found here. His clinics have such a poor safety record that they have numerous lawsuits against them. At least ten women have died after or during abortions in this chain of abortion clinics.

Dr. Allred has performed tens of thousands of abortions and is a millionaire several times over. In an article in the San Diego Union, he said the following (1):

Population control is too important to be stopped by some right wing pro-life types. Take the new influx of Hispanic immigrants. Their lack of respect for democracy and social order is frightening. I hope I can do something to stem that tide; I’d set up a clinic in Mexico for free if I could … When a sullen black woman of 17 or 18 can decide to have a baby and get welfare and food stamps and become a burden to all of us, it’s time to stop. In parts of South Los Angeles, having babies for welfare is the only industry these people have.

Dr. Allred’s attitude may or may not be shared by other doctors at Family Planning Associates, but you can’t help but wonder: if the founder and head of this clinic chain has such disdainful feelings towards minorities, will they be treated well in his clinics?

In a more recent article, Dr. Alfred Brown of Los Angeles described why he liked performing abortions on Latino women.

Latino women are some of the best patients [for abortions.] They come in and they don’t complain.

While not as blatant as Dr. Allred, Dr. Brown seems to show contempt for his patients. It is important to him that they “don’t complain” and quietly submit to their abortions.

Pro-life activists were shocked when they heard abortionist Dr. Ashutosh “Ron” Virmani say to them:

Let’s see you adopt those ugly black babies and get them off the taxpayer’s money.

They have him on tape making this statement.

These are only a handful of quotes, but taken together, they are disturbing. There is no way to tell how many abortionists hold racist attitudes, but Live Action’s expose of Planned Parenthood suggests that these doctors are not the only ones.
