‘Together Strong: Life Unites’: March for Life announces new theme for 2021

“Together Strong: Life Unites” is the newly-announced theme for the 47th annual March for Life, to be held on January 29th, 2021, in Washington, D.C.

The March for Life Education & Defense Fund announced the theme with a two-minute video on September 10th. In the video description, organizers called the event the “largest annual human rights demonstration in the world,” stating that “[e]very year, the National March for Life brings together hundreds of thousands of people who recognize that the beauty and dignity of every human life must be valued and protected. We march together united by the common goal of building a culture of life and making abortion unthinkable in our country.”

Each one of us has something critical and irreplaceable to contribute to the fight for life. Everyone is desperately needed. Our unique gifts and talents, united in the service of one common mission and purpose, make us strong; Together Strong!

The theme, organizers said, means the following:

Each and every one of us has an important role to play in building a culture of life. As Mother Teresa once said, ‘You can do what I cannot do. I can do what you cannot do. Together we can do great things.’ From choosing adoption to joyfully accepting the responsibilities of fatherhood and motherhood. From sidewalk counseling to lobbying. From prenatal care to post-abortion support. From praying for the most vulnerable to voting to protect them.

Amidst the uncertainty and division swirling around all of us these days, the speakers in the video — including Christina Bennett of the National Black Pro-Life Coalition, and Dr. Christina Francis, a board-certified OB/GYN and chairman of the board of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians & Gynecologists (AAPLOG), as well as popular Christian singer and songwriter Matthew West, Rep. Vicky Hartzler of Missouri, adoption advocate and founder of the Radiance Foundation Ryan Bomberger, and Vice President Mike Pence — call for unity.

“From the moment we wake up until the moment lay our heads down, what we do matters,” the speakers state. “We’re endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, including the Right to Life. Each and every one of us Has an important role to play in building a culture of life. What you can do to build it up is different than what I can do, but both are important and both are needed….”

The speakers note, “When we put our diverse strengths toward our common mission, we are Together Strong. Individually we each have our own mission to share the value of every life. And together, our strengths and gifts can end abortion. We can give a voice to the voiceless. Together, we can keep generations stronger and united. Together, we can uphold the dignity of all life. Together, we can do great things. Together, we are not alone. So stay in the cause for life. Stand for life, because life is winning. Life Unites!”
