White House hosts screening of ‘Gosnell’ movie about serial killer abortionist

White House, Gosnell

Tonight, the White House hosted a screening of the film “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer,” which tells the story of Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell, whose crimes of killing women and “snipping” the spinal cords of babies born alive after abortion earned him prison time.

According to the National Catholic Register:

White House Deputy Press Secretary Judd Deere said in a statement to the Register that the movie provides a “startling reminder” of the gruesome true story of Gosnell’s practices.

“Kermit Gosnell was convicted on three counts of first-degree murder for killing babies by cutting their spines after he botched the abortions, and this film is a startling reminder of these horrific atrocities,” Deere said.

He also linked Gosnell’s murder of infants born alive to the recent defense of late-term abortion from Democrats.

“Democrats now defend this procedure,” he emphasized, “but President Trump has made protecting life and ending infanticide a priority for this administration.”

Critics of the movie “Gosnell” — not unlike critics of the new pro-life film “Unplanned” — tried to pass it off as mere pro-life propaganda, claiming that Gosnell was an outlier, and that other abortionists would never do what Gosnell did. But regardless of whether a living human being is killed upon exiting the birth canal or prior to it, that human being is still killed, denied his or her right to life without due process.

Gosnell shows the depths of depravity to which the abortion industry can go. In reality, Gosnell’s belief that by killing babies he was “helping” women is no Late-term abortionists feel that what they are doing is justified. The birth canal does not suddenly transform a non-living entity into a living human being.

The Gosnell movie experienced similar roadblocks to “Unplanned.” Kickstarter kept taking down the movie’s fundraiser page due to complaints. Distributors wanted nothing to do with the film, simply because this murderer wasn’t your typical killer — he was a killer of preborn babies and even infants, and that territory is politically volatile.

The fact that the Trump White House hosted a screening about the controversial subject of abortion is a step in the right direction toward asking this necessary question: why should it be legal or acceptable to kill a child while still in the womb, yet unacceptable and illegal just seconds after exiting it?
