If ever there was a time to defund Planned Parenthood, it would be now. Not only does the organization, founded by a racist eugenist, perform the most abortions in the country, it routinely commits an onslaught of abuses. The abortion giant’s harvesting and trafficking of fetal body parts, while saddening, is only the latest example of lawbreaking by Planned Parenthood.
After videos by the Center for Medical Progress showed top Planned Parenthood employees discussing their fetal parts business, swift actions taken by lawmakers hint that officials may be ready to defund the abortion giant this time. What makes today’s vote so noteworthy is that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell fast-tracked the vote.
The Senate bill would not only defund Planned Parenthood, but send funding to federally qualified health centers, which do not provide abortions and adhere to the law.
And despite the occupation of the most pro-abortion president in the Oval Office, there is still hope. Leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives has called for an investigation. The Senate and the House have both sent letters, a petition has been sent to the White House, and politicians on both aisles of the abortion debate have spoken or acted. The public is starting to realize the truth.
Planned Parenthood is the master of deception, and has been desperate to control the narrative. The organization certainly has its political allies, most notably the president. President Barack Obama has threatened to veto legislation that would strip taxpayer funding from the abortion giant.
While Planned Parenthood touts its health care services for women, under CEO Cecile Richards, abortions have increased, but health services have been cut. Yet the organization receives $1.4 million a day and over half a billion dollars a year from taxpayers. Planned Parenthood is able to claim a monopoly on such services because their facilities are federally funded.
With every dollar the corporation receives, it kills innocent lives and funds pro-abortion candidates. The latest scandal has awakened and disgusted the public—even former supporters of the organization.
In addition to profiting from the sale of fetal parts, Planned Parenthood abortionists admit on tape how they modify the abortion procedure to ensure that parts are intact. Abortionists also describe using a procedure similar to the illegal partial-birth abortion in order to harvest organs. The abortion giant is clearly guilty of violating multiple federal statutes.
While it may have taken the disrespect and desecration of human lives to get America’s attention, many are seeing Planned Parenthood for the evil that it is. Planned Parenthood clearly does not deserve another cent.
